Ceylon Shipping Corporation Ltd. (CSCL) is the state owned national carrier of Sri Lanka, established in 1992 as the successor to the Ceylon Shipping Corporation (CSC), which was established in 1971. The government of Sri Lanka holds all stakes.
CSCL not only has a quite a long history of around 27 years, but also a reputation as a dependable carrier in the South
Asia, Europe and Far East trades.
CSCL won the prestigious awards from Lloyds of London and Port of London Authority as the Star Performer for 03 consecutive years from 1993 to 1995 and again in 1997 for the excellent services offered on the South Asia route from Europe.

Ariston Oil & Shipping (Pvt) Ltd was established in February 2008 as a limited liability company in Sri Lanka, to engage in Bunkering, Ship Chandelling and Shipping (transportation of cargo) businesses. The major shareholder of Ariston hails from the renowned Vardinoyannis family of Greece. The family has a strong history of Oil and Shipping businesses and their international network is expected to be a key strength in developing Ariston Oil & Shipping (Pvt) Ltd as a key player in the region.
Ariston Oil & Shipping (Pvt) Limited received bunkering license through its joint venture with the Ceylon Shipping Corporation, from the Ministry of Petroleum and Petroleum Resources Development to operate bunkering operations in Sri Lanka. The Licence which comes into effect from 15th July 2008, will grant the authority to CSC Kandia (Pvt) Ltd, a joint venture between Ariston Oil & Shipping (Pvt) Limited and the state owned Ceylon Shipping Corporation, to import, store, distribute and supply petroleum fuel to ships entering Sri Lankan waters.
